Mikalina Glemžaitė - lietuvių tautinio kostiumo kūrėja

LTMikalina Glemžaitė paliko ryškius pėdsakus tautinio kostiumo kūrimo ir populiarinimo darbe. Šiame straipsnyje aptariama Glemžaitės veikla ir jos publikuotuose darbuose išryškėjusi tautinio kostiumo samprata. Glemžaitė aktyviai dalyvavo kuriant ir populiarinant regioninio tautinio kostiumo modelį nuo šio proceso pradžios 4 dešimtmetyje iki 6 dešimtmečio vidurio, kai jį pradėjo keisti stilizuoti sceniniai kostiumai. Regioninių kostiumų modelį ji perėmė iš kitų kultūros veikėjų ir laikėsi daugelio jų suformuluotų principų. Tačiau jos leidiniuose publikuotų tautinių drabužių interpretacijos skalė buvo platesnė. Kai kurie jos knygose išdėstyti praktiniai patarimai ir nuolaidos laikmečio estetikai vėliau labai prigijo ir gerokai pakenkė tradicinių drabužių rekonstravimo tikslumui. Populiarindama regioninio tautinio kostiumo sampratą ir jo pavyzdžius Glemžaitė perskaitė daug paskaitų ir išleido praktinio pobūdžio leidinių. Vis tik savo turimų žinių apie autentiškus liaudies drabužius ir praktinės patirties, sukauptos kuriant tautinius kostiumus, Glemžaitei nepavyko sujungti į sklandžią visumą. Jos paskutinioji 1955 metais išleista knyga visapusiškiausiai atspindi autorės veiklą ir požiūrį į tautinį kostiumą. „Lietuvių tautinių drabužių“ turinio ypatumai rodo, kad autorė puikiai jautė epochos pulsą: etnografinės medžiagos rinkimo, tyrinėjimo ir publikavimo atskyrimas nuo tautinių kostiumų kūrimo ir gamybos jau buvo prasidėjęs ir greitai tapo vyraujančia praktika.

ENMikalina Glemžaitė left bright traces in the field of national costume design and promotion. This article discusses her activities and the concept of national costume emerging in the works published by her. Mikelina Glemžaitė actively participated in the creation and promotion of the model of the regional national costume from the very outset of this process in the fourth decade to the middle of the sixth decade when this model was gradually replaced by stylised scenic costumes. She took the model of regional costumes from other cultural actors and adhered to a number of principles formed by them. However, her interpretation of national apparel published in her issues was wider. Some of her books contain practical advice and certain freedoms for the then aesthetics, which later caused a significant harm to the accuracy of reconstruction of traditional costumes. The concept of the regional national costume is promoted in her book. Mikalina Glemžaitė delivered a number of lectures and published practical issues on the theme. However, she failed to coherently unite her knowledge about authentic apparel and her practical experience when creating national costumes. Her last book was published in 1955, and it extensively reflects the author’s activities and her attitude towards national costume. The peculiarities of the content of the book “Lithuanian National Apparel” show that the author perfectly perceived the pulse of the epoch, i.e. that the separation of ethnographic material collection, research and publication from the field of creation and production of national costumes had already began and, in short time, it became a prevailing practice.
