Onos Maksimaitienės indėlis tiriant Panevėžio praeitį

LTStraipsnyje apžvelgiamas žinomos Lietuvos istorikės Onos Maksimaitienės (1902–1999) gyvenimas ir veikla. Bibliografai nuo 1941 m. iki 1981 m. suskaičiuoja 91 O. Maksimaitienės publikaciją. Bet yra ir vėliau jos parengtų tekstų. Didelį darbą O. Maksimaitienė atliko rengdama šaltinių publikacijas. Ona Maksimaitienė parengė daugiau kaip 40 istorinių žemėlapių monografijoms, vadovėliams, enciklopedijoms. Darbe nuosekliai ir išsamiai aprašomi Onos Maksimaitienės istoriniai tyrimai. Pagrindinis dėmesys skiriamas mokslininkės įnašo į Panevėžio miesto istorijos tyrimą vertinimui, argumentuotai ir objektyviai aprašomas bei vertinamas mokslininkės darbas nustatant Panevėžio miesto datą ir rašant „Panevėžio istorijos“ knygą. Istorikės mokslinis kelias ir ypač Panevėžio istorijos rašymas bei leidyba analizuojami atsižvelgiant į to meto politinį, ideologinį bei akademinį kontekstą. Straipsnis leidžia suprasti sunkumus, kuriuos sovietmetyje patyrė istorijos bei kitų socialinių mokslų atstovai.

ENThe article reviews the life and activities of a well known Lithuanian historian Ona Maksimaitienė (1902–1999). Bibliographers estimate a total of 91 Maksimaitienė’s publications within the period from 1941 to 1981. However, there are texts, which she produced after 1981. Ona Maksimaitienė performed a great work by publishing sources. She produced over 40 historical maps for monographs, textbooks and encyclopaedias. This work presents a coherent and accurate description of Ona Maksimaitienė’s historical research. The key attention is focused on the scientist’s contribution to the evaluation of the research of the history of Panevėžys. The scientist’s work when defining the date of the city of Panevėžys and writing the book “History of Panevėžys” is described in a persuasive and objective manner. The scientific path of the scientist and especially her work over the history of Panevėžys and publication thereof are analysed with regard to the then political, ideological and academic context. The article reveals the difficulties representatives of history and other social sciences faced in the soviet period.
