Peizažas, likimas ir subjektas Antano Vaičiulaičio romane Valentina

LTStraipsnyje subjektyvumo raiškos aspektu aptariamas lietuvių literatūros aukso fondui tradiciškai priskiriamas Antano Vaičiulaičio romanas Valentina (1936). Analizuodami peizažo vaidmenį romane ir tokiu būdu bandydami apibrėžti gamtos figūrų vietą subjekto (visų pirma Antano, iš kurio perspektyvos pasakojama) vidujybės raiškoje, keliame klausimą ir apie romane sukuriamo subjektyvumo efekto pobūdį. Pagrindinė tyrimo išvada, kurią siūlo peizaže išryškėjanti likimiškumo reikšmė ir subjekto kaip likimo žaislo statusas, siūlo, viena vertus, konstatuoti tokio subjektyvumo problemiškumą, kita vertus, kvestionuoti mūsų literatūros kritikoje funkcionuojančius romano kaip psichologinės prozos šedevro vertinimus ir paties romano vertę.

ENThe article discusses the expression of subjectivity in Antanas Vaičiulaitis’ novel Valentina (1936), which is considered as a part of literary canon and nearly a questionless aesthetic value in the Lithuanian literary criticism. By investigating the functioning of landscape and its role in the expression of a subject’s inwardness, we try to discuss the specificity of the represented subjectivity. The latter gets complicated by the meaning of nature as a destiny space. This meaning turns subjects into a tool of destiny thus making the very notion of subjectivity problematic. As a consequence, the problematic status of subjects (or non-subjects) makes us reconsider reception of the novel as a masterpiece of psychological prose and the point of value of the novel itself.
