Summary / Abstract:

LTKompleksą sudaro Sudotos 2-a akmens amžiaus gyvenvietė (IP-2421/A), Sudotos senovės gyvenvietė-kaimavietė (AV-2301) ir Sudotos IV pilkapynas (IP-3004/A). Tyrimai vykdyti komplekso ŠR pakraštyje, kur palei Žeimenos ardomą krantą buvo ištirta XV (10 x 4 m dydžio) ir XVI (10 x 2–8 m dydžio) perkasos, bendras apie 150 m² plotas [p. 18].

ENThe Sudota complex of archaeological sites (Švenčionys district) consists of the Stone Age site, the Late Medieval village and the barrow cemetery. In 2002 the total area of c. 150 m² was explored. There were found traces of several pits as well as remains of a damaged barrow construction in the cultural layer, partly destroyed by nature. In total some 2,000 flint, sandstone and other stone artefacts (tanged points, microliths, scrapers, burins, borers, cores, etc.) were collected. About 200 pottery finds were collected here, too. The finds belonged to the Final Palaeolithic (Swiderian), Late Mesolithic-very Early Neolithic (Kunda-Narva culture) as well as to the Late Neolithic-Early Bronze Age (Narva culture). A metallic fragment and a lot of cremated human bones from the destroyed barrow belonged to the 5-6th centuries and several hand-thrown potsherds belonged to 15th-19th centuries.
