Vilniaus mokslo bičiulių draugijos buveinė

LTŠio pranešimo tikslas - priminti Vilniaus mokslo bičiulių draugijos buveinės istoriją. Vilniaus mokslo bičiulių draugija (Towarzystwo Przyjaci Nauk w Wilnie) buvo įkurta 1907 m. sausio 17 (30) d. Jos įkūrėjai ir nariai buvo lenkų inteligentija ir apsišvietę dvarininkai Draugija, kaip nurodyta jos įstatuose, turėjo tikslą puoselėti mokslo žinias, gebėjimus ir literatūrą lenkų kalba, konkrečiau - tyrinėti krašto gamtą, etnografiją, istoriją, ekonomiką ir statistiką. Draugija turėjo dvi buveines. 1907-1913 m. draugija buvo įsikūrusi grafo Jzefo Przedzieckio dovanotame name Naujininkų priemiestyje, 1913-1939 m. - nuosavame naujai pastatytame name tuometinėje Tilto (tarpukariu - J. Lelevelio) gatvėje. Draugijos namo statyba pradėta 1910 m. balandžio 10d. Darbus vykdė Stefano Sieniucio statybos artelė, prižiūrint inž. Janui Trojanui. Draugijos buveinėje buvo kelios didelės šviesios salės, skirtos bibliotekai ir muziejui, bei kelios mažesnės - posėdžiams, kanceliarijai ir kabinetams. Taip pat buvo patalpos sargui gyventi, drabužinės, ūkinės paskirties patalpos. Name įrengta centrinis šildymas, elektros apšvietimas bei gera ventiliacija, priešgaisrinė apsauga, o langai apsaugoti grotomis. 1914 m. pagaminta ir bibliotekai bei muziejui skirtose salėse sustatyta spintos, lentynos ir stelažai. Į naująją draugijos buveinę buvo pervežtos sukauptos knygos ir muziejiniai rinkiniai. Pasibaigus karui ir atkūrus 1918 m. Lenkijos nepriklausomybę Vilniaus mokslo bičiulių draugijai atsirado naujos, žymiai palankesnės, veiklos galimybės.

ENThe aim of the report is to remind the history of the headquarters of Vilnius Science Association (Towarzystwo Przyjaci Nauk w Wilnie), which was founded on 17 (30) January 1907. The founders and members of the association were Polish intellectuals and educated nobles. As stated in its regulations the association had the aim of nurturing scientific knowledge, skills and literature in the Polish language, i. e. to examine the nature, ethnography, history, economy and statistics of the land. The association had two headquarter buildings. In 1907-1913 it established in the building, given to it by Count Juzef Przedziecki in Naujininkai, in 1913-1939 – in its own new building in Tilto (during the interwar times – J. Lelevelio) street. The construction of the building commenced on 10 April 1910. The works were performed by Stefan Sieniuc’s construction company under supervision of engineer Jan Trojan. The headquarters of the association had several halls, intended for the library and the museum and several smaller premises – for meetings, offices and working rooms. In addition there was a living room for a guard, cloakrooms and utility premises. The building was equipped with central heating, electric light, good ventilation and fire-prevention measures, the windows were protected by bars. In 1914 closets, shelves and stacks were produced and placed in the halls, intended for the library and the museum. The books and museum sets were brought to the new headquarters of the association. After the end of the WWI and upon reinstatement of the independence of Poland in 1918, significantly more favorable possibilities for activities of the association came into existence.
