Lietuvių naratyvinė kultūra : krikščioniškieji aspektai

LTŠi kultūros sugestija remiasi religinės sąmonės sklaida lietuviškų naracijų gausoje: tikėjimuose, papročiuose, legendose, sakmėse, užkalbėjimuose, patarlėse ir priežodžiuose. Akcentuojant bikultūrinę lietuviškojo paveldo sampratą, siekiama apibrėžti kultūrinio sąlyčio taškus ir parodyti svarbesnius šiuolaikinės pasaulėjautos akcentus. Senoji lietuvių kultūra išlaikė aktualių būties klausimų vienovę, perimdama naujas religines − krikščioniškąsias aspiracijas ir plėsdama temų, pažiūrų, sugestijų galimybes. Krikščioniškųjų reikšmių spektras yra išties platus: dieviškasis Kūrėjo kanonas identifikuojamas kaip krikščioniškojo Dievo veikla, demoniškumo samprata įgavo velniškąjį pavidalą, net archajiškoji laiko raiška turi krikščioniškąsias dimensijas. Ikikrikščioniškųjų mentalinių struktūrų palikimas ir vyraujančios lietuvių naratyvinėje kultūroje krikščioniškosios nuostatos liudija religinio gyvenimo savitumą. ENThe narrative viewpoint on old Lithuanian culture enables one to speak about the past with modern language, close to the present and compulsory, to derive from the past all that is relevant and significant, and to focus attention on the contemporary attributes of the traditional conception of the world. The old Lithuanian culture in itself is merely a fragmentary reality of various historical items of information, subjectively recorded by non-Lithuanian chroniclers. Meanwhile, the Lithuanian folklore hoard (its gathering started in the late 19th c.), which is now represented as a collection of variously interpreted traditional texts, customs and beliefs, is particularly rich. The opposition between the old pre-Christian culture and the new Christian religion was rather general. The absence of a serious confrontation is attested in old Lithuanian texts, the variety of which reflects bicultural ways of thinking. The most numerous group of etiological legends reveal the amalgamation and peaceful functioning of the two cultures. The variants of a concrete Lithuanian etiological legend may comprise personages, characteristic of both pre-Christian and Christian cultures: God as the Christian Creator, the Devil, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the saints. The archaic culture has merged with the Christian one, preserving the peculiar mental pre-Christian structures and accepting the Christian turn of mind in the framework of the Gospel. Consequently, universal attitudes of the Christian culture are also inherent in Lithuanian narrative culture. [From the publication]
