Summary / Abstract:

ENIn the article the author describes the importance of the castle and shows its relation with the Radvilos and the Great Duchy of Lithuania. The castle is analyzed as administrational, military and food provision centre. The abundance of functions of Biržai Castle determined its importance. The castle created conditions for safety of the Duchy of Biržai. During the years of the war the castle would become the organizational centre.
