Tradicijų tąsa avangardo apsuptyje

LTStraipsnyje analizuojama kaip skleidėsi išeivijos dailė ir ką pasiekė, kokiomis sąlygomis vystėsi, svarstoma ar esama kūrybos laimėjimų, kokie jų požymiai, reikšmė. Atsakymų į šiuos klausimus autorius ieško keliuose kontinentuose (Europoje, Šiaurės ir Pietų Amerikoje, Australijoje, net Afrikoje), keliose šalyse (JAV, Kanadoje, Vokietijoje, Prancūzijoje, Šveicarijoje, Švedijoje, Pietų Afrikos Respublikoje ir kitur), mėgindamas bent bendriausiais bruožais apibūdinti labai įvairią ir išblaškytą dailininkų kūrybą. Straipsnyje plačiau apsistota ties kelių labai skirtingų vyresniosios kartos išeivijos dailininkų plėtojusių figūrinės tapybos tradicijas, kūryba. Per ją bandyta bent iš dalies atskleisti pasaulėvaizdžių įvairovę, kai kurias būdingas tapybos stilistinės sklaidos linkmes. Į išeivijos tapybos tradicijas žvelgiama kaip į viduje bei išorėje kitusį ir iki šiol dar tebekintantį reiškinį, kurį galima vertinti keliais požiūriais: 1) kaip, kur link evoliucionavo iš tarpukario laikų atsineštas meninės raiškos, įvaizdžių, motyvų arsenalas, kokių pokyčių atsirado tapytojų stiliuje, 2) kaip keitėsi (arba ne) kūrybos nuostatos gamtos, žmogaus, socialinės aplinkos atžvilgiu, 3) koks buvo nacionalinės kultūros ir naujų tėkmių santykis, 4) kokios tapybos šakojimosi kryptys, sąlyčio su antrosios XX a. pusės dailės avangardu taškai. Straipsnyje analizuojama Viktoro Vizgirdos, Alfonso Dargio, Vytauto Kasiulio, Broniaus Murino, Prano Domšaičio, Petro Kiaulėno, Povilo Puzino ir Adolfo Valeškos kūryba, taip pat jaunesnės kartos Vytauto Igno, Zitos Sodeikienės ir Vidos Krištolaitytės tapyba.

ENThe article analyzes the spread and achievements of expatriates’ art, the conditions of its development and discusses the creative achievements, their characteristics and significance. The author searches for the answers to the questions in several continents (Europe, North and South Americas, Australia and even Africa) and several countries (the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Sweden, the Republic of South Africa, etc.) and attempts to provide a brief characterization of the diverse and dissipated creative of the artists. The article dedicates more significant attention to the creative of several very different expatriate artists of the older generation, who developed the traditions of figure painting. By using the said information the author attempts to, at least partially, reveal the worldview diversity and certain characteristic directions of the stylistic dissemination of the painting. The expatriates’ painting traditions are viewed as a phenomenon, which has been undergoing both external and internal changes and which can be evaluated in several aspects: 1) the way and the direction of the evolution of the arsenal of the artistic expression, images and motives, originating from the interwar times and the changes in the style of the painters, 2) the ways of changing of the creative worldview in regard to nature, man and social environment, 3) the relation between the national culture and the new trends, 4) the directions of painting and the points of intersection with the vanguard of the second half of the 20th century. The article analyzes the works of Viktoras Vizgirda, Alfonsas Dargys, Vytautas Kasiulis, Bronius Murinas, Pranas Domšaitis, Petras Kiaulėnas, Povilas Puzinas and Adolfas Valeška, as well as such artists of the younger generation as Vytautas Ignas, Zita Sodeikienė and Vida Krištolaitytė.
