Lietuvos Respublikos ir Šventojo Sosto santykių Visuomeninė refleksija po Nepriklausomybės atgavimo

LTVisuomenės domėjimasis Lietuvos ir Šventojo Sosto santykiais gerokai pranoksta įprastą dėmesį diplomatiniams procesams, išskyrus aktualiausias užsienio ryšių sritis. Remiantis žiniasklaidos, VU Religijos studijų ir tyrimų centro rinktų gyvenimo istorijų ir pokalbių medžiaga, straipsnyje analizuojamas Lietuvos ir Šventojo Sosto santykių visuomeninės refleksijos pobūdis, jo istorinis ir sinchroninis sąlygotumas. Daugiausiai dėmesio skiriama paprastai apeinamoms temoms. Konstatuojama, jog Lietuvos ir Šventojo Sosto santykiai viešosios nuomonės iš esmės neskiriami nuo Bažnyčios ir valstybės santykių. Nurodoma, kad tai lemia silpnas tikinčiųjų sąmoningumas ir negausi bei neaktyvi katalikiškoji šviesuomenė, menkas bendrasis krikščioniškos kultūros ir istorijos pažinimas. Lietuvos žiniasklaidos institucijos informacijai apie Vatikaną pasitelkia antrinius šaltinius, užsienio žiniasklaidą, ypač tuos kairiuosius dienraščius (pvz., L’Unità), kurių medžiagos vartojimas gali būti vertinamas kaip sovietmečio įprotis. Sovietmečio poveikio ir atgaivintos prieškarinės primityvaus patriotizmo tradicijos derinys lemia, jog viešajame diskurse tebefunkcionuoja „Vatikano kišimosi į Lietuvos reikalus“ motyvas.

ENPublic interest in the relations between Lithuania and the Holy See considerably exceeds the normal interest in diplomatic processes, except for the most relevant areas of foreign relations. Relying on material provided by the media as well as the life stories and focus interviews collected by the Vilnius University Center of Religious Studies, the article analyzes the nature of the public reflection on the relations between Lithuania and the Holy See, their historical and synchronous conditionality. The greatest attention is focused on subjects that have usually been avoided. It is stated that public opinion makes no distinction between the relations of Lithuania and the Holy See and the relations between the Church and the State. This is determined by the relatively low consciousness of the believers, the low in number and inactive stratum of Catholic intellectuals, and a poor general knowledge of Christian culture and history. The Lithuanian media usually provides information about the Vatican, using secondary sources, foreign media, especially those left-wing dailies (e.g. L’Unité) the use of whose materials can be regarded as continuing the heritage of the Soviet-era. The combination of the in fluence of the Soviet period and the restored tradition of the primitive pre-war patriotism has determined that the motif of „the interference by the Vatican into the affairs of Lithuania“ is still functioning in public discourse.
