Lietuvos biochemikų draugija nuo 1960 iki 2000 m

LTLietuvos biochemikų draugija (LDB) yra mokslinė draugija. Nuo įsisteigimo 1960 m. iki 1989 m. ji veikė Sovietų Sąjungos Visasąjunginės biochemikų draugijos sudėtyje, su teise vadintis "Lietuvos biochemikų draugija - Lietuvos skyrius". VBD įsteigta vos dvejais metais anksčiau (1958) prie Sąjunginės MA. VBD jungė ir kontroliavo 16-oje sovietinių respublikų esančių biochemikų draugijų veiklą. Skyrių draugijos veikė pagal VBD įstatus. Skyriai VBD centro tarybai pateikdavo kasmetę mokslinės organizacinės veiklos ataskaitą, ateinančių metų veiklos planus ir 43% LBD nario mokesčio. VBD priklausė Tarptautinei biochemikų sąjungai (IUB) ir Europos biochemikų federacijos organizacijai (FEBS). Juridiškai tiesioginių ryšių LBD su šiomis organizacijomis negalėjo turėti. LBD nariai užsienyje buvo kotiruojami kaip sąjunginės biochemikų draugijos nariai (atstovai). Vėliau LDB nutraukė ryšius su VDB, 1992 m. tapo Tarptautinės biochemijos ir molekulinės biologijos sąjungos asocijuota nare. ENThe Lithuanian Biochemical Society is a scientific body. From its founding in 1960 till 1989 it functioned as a part of the Biochemical Society of the Soviet Union, with the right to be called "Lithuanian Biochemical Society – Lithuanian Division". The Biochemical Society of the Soviet Union was founded two years earlier (in 1958) under the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union. The Biochemical Society of the Soviet Union connected and controlled the activities of the biochemical societies of the 16 Soviet Socialist Republics. The societies functioned in observance of the regulations of the Biochemical Society of the Soviet Union and provided to the central council of the Biochemical Society of the Soviet Union annual reports of their activities, the activity plans for the following year and 43% of the fee of membership in the Biochemical Society of the Soviet Union. The Biochemical Society of the Soviet Union was a part of the International Union of Biochemistry (IUB) and the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS). Legally the Biochemical Society of the Soviet Union could not have had any direct relation with the said organizations. In foreign countries the members of the Lithuanian Biochemical Society were viewed as members (representatives) of the Biochemical Society of the Soviet Union. Later the Lithuanian Biochemical Society severed its relations with the Biochemical Society of the Soviet Union and in 1992 became an associated member of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The article presents an overview of the activities of the Lithuanian Biochemical Society during the time period of 40 years.
