JAV lietuvių ¡nformavimas apie ¡nvesticijų ¡r verslo galimybes Lietuvoje XX a. 4-ame dešimtmetyje

LTStraipsnyje analizuojamos Lietuvos vyriausybės pastangos po 1926 m. gruodžio 17 d. perversmo rasti būdus, kaip pritraukti JAV lietuvių kapitalą į krašto ūkį. Lietuvių išeivija, finansiškai nukentėjusi pirmaisiais Lietuvos nepriklausomybės metais, buvo gana atsargi. Tik pasaulinė ekonominė krizė privertė turtingesniuosius pagalvoti apie santaupų investavimo Lietuvoje galimybes. Atsižvelgdama į išeivių norą gauti patikimą ekonominę informaciją, Lietuvos valdžia per Finansų ministeriją 1931 m. gegužės 1 d. Kaune prie Ekonominių studijų draugijos įkūrė vadinamąjį Amerikos lietuvių ekonominių informacijų biurą - Amerbiurą. Jis turėjo kaupti informaciją apie parduodamus ūkinius objektus, investicijų galimybes krašte, platinti ją tarp atvykstančių turistų ir Amerikoje per JAV lietuvių spaudą bei Lietuvos atstovybes. Šią naują įstaigą JAV lietuvių veikėjai sutiko palankiai. JAV lietuviai verslininkai nebuvo pasiruošę investuoti didesnių sumų, nupirko tik kelis šimtus ūkių ar namų miestuose. Amerbiuras is esmės priklausė nuo atvykstančių Lietuvon turistų, kurių nuo 1932 m. pastebimai mažėjo. Biuro veiklą ribojo ir nepakankamas Finansų ministerijos finansavimas. 1935 m. šios įstaigos pavadinimas išnyko iš Lietuvos ir JAV lietuvių spaudos puslapių, bet Lietuvos valdžia ir toliau rūpinosi ekonominės informacijos išeivijai skleidimu.

ENThe article analyzes the attempts, made by the Government of Lithuania after the coup of 17 December, 1926 to find the ways to attract the capital of the US Lithuanians to the economy of the land. The Lithuanian expatriates, which incurred financial losses during the first years of Lithuania’s independence, were rather cautious. Only the global economic crisis forced the rich to consider the possibilities of investing their savings in Lithuania. Taking into consideration the expatriates’ wish to receive reliable economic information, on 1 May, 1931 Lithuanian authorities, through the Ministry of Finance, founded the so-called Bureau of Economic Information for American Lithuanians under the Association of Economic Studies in Kaunas. The bureau had to accumulate the information on the economic objects sold, the investment possibilities in the land and disseminate the information among the coming tourists and in America through the press of US Lithuanians and Lithuanian representations. The US Lithuanian businessmen welcomed the new institution. Since they were not ready to invest larger amounts, they bought only several hundreds farms or houses in cities. The bureau in essence depended on the tourists, coming to Lithuania, the number of which was significantly reducing from 1932. The activities of the bureau were also limited by the insufficient financing by the Ministry of Finance. In 1935 the name of the institution disappeared from the pages of Lithuanian and US Lithuanians’ press however the Lithuanian authorities continued taking care of the dissemination of economic information among the expatriates.
