XIX a. vidurio meninis gyvenimas Vilniuje
LTStraipsnyje aptariamas XIX a. vidurio, tiksliau - tarpsukiliminio laikotarpio Vilniaus meninis gyvenimas. Universiteto uždarymas ne tik paliko miestą be meninę tradiciją puoselėjančios institucijos, bet ir pavertė Vilnių gūdžia dailės gyvenimo provincija, kurioje profesionalus kūrėjas neretai atsidurdavo prieš dilemą: gyventi pusbadžiu arba išduoti savo pašaukimą, degraduoti. Tik didelių atskirų kūrėjų pastangų dėka Vilniuje ir jo apylinkėse meninis gyvenimas neužgeso, būrėsi bendraminčiai, vyko parodos. Straipsnyje daug dėmesio skiriama kasdieniam dailininko gyvenimui, dailininko ir klijento, dailininko ir mecenato santykiams, to meto dailės kritikos situacijai nušviesti. Aptariamas miesto parodinis gyvenimas, prekyba dailės dirbiniais, kolekcionavimas.
ENThe article discusses the artistic life in Vilnius in the middle of the 19th century, i. e. in the time period between the uprisings. The closing of the university not only left the city without an institution, nurturing the artistic tradition, but also turned Vilnius into a tenebrous province of artistic life, in which a professional creator quite frequently faced the dilemma: whether to half-starve or betray his mission and degrade. Only thanks to attempts of several individual creators the artistic life did not fade in Vilnius and its environs, congenial people formed their communities and exhibitions were arranged. The article dedicates a good deal of attention to the everyday life of an artist, the relations between the artist and the customer, the artist and his patrons, the situation of art criticism during the period and discusses the exhibition life in the city, trade and collections of art items.
