LTStraipsnyje apžvelgiama lėlių teatro raida Sovietų Sąjungoje, pirmųjų teatrų įsteigimo aplinkybės, juose dirbusios asmenybės, tokios kaip Sergejus Obrazcovas, padaręs didelę įtaką kelioms lėlininkų kartoms, taip pat savitų lėlių teatro mokyklų formavimasis satelitinėse Sovietų Sąjungos valstybėse bei šalyse, po Antrojo pasaulinio karo inkorporuotose į Sovietų Sąjungos sudėtį. Didelis dėmesys skiriamas Lietuvos lėlių teatro raidai, repertuarui, savitoms, su autentiška liaudies kūryba susijusioms temoms, Vitalijaus Mazūro asmenybei bei sukurtiems spektakliams („Eglė žalčių karalienė“, „Pelenų antelė“, „Žemės dukra“), taip pat jaunesnės kartos lėlių teatro menininkams – Rimui Driežiui ir Julijai Skuratovai. ENThe article reviews the development of the puppet theatre in the Soviet Union, the circumstances of establishing the first theatres, the personalities who worked there, like Sergei Obraztsov who influenced a couple of generations of puppeteers; also a note is taken on the unique puppet theatre school formations in the satellite Soviet Union countries and those ones which after WWII were incorporated into the USSR. An exceptional attention is given to the development of the Lithuanian puppet theatre, its repertoire, to its original themes derived from the authentic folk art, to the personality of Vitalijus Mazūras and the performances he created: “Eglė žalčių karalienė” (“Egle, the Queen of Snakes”), “Pelenų antelė” (“The Ash Duckling”), “Žemės dukra” (“The Earth’s Daughter”), as well as to the puppet theatre artists of the younger generation – Rimas Driežis and Julija Skuratova.
