LTPranešimo tikslas - aptarti bibliotekų, muziejų ir archyvų standartizacijos problemas, galimus sprendimus, parodyti tokio bendradarbiavimo standartizacijos srityje rezultatus. Kaip galima organizuoti standartizacijos veiklą atminties institucijose? Vienas būdų dalyvauti nacionalinėje standartizacijos veikloje. Kita standartizacijos kryptis — bibliotekose, archyvuose ir muziejuose atliekama kultūros paveldo skaitmeninimo veikla. Plečiantis atminties institucijų bendradarbiavimo veiklai svarbu pažinti kiekvienos srities terminiją, o atskirais atvejais - sutarti dėl tų pačių reiškinių vienodo įvardijimo. Susitarimas dėl bendrų standartų taikymo atminties institucijose gali padėti formalizuoti bibliotekų, muziejų ir archyvų bendradarbiavimą ir tapti atminties institucijų integracijos priemone nepaisant kiekvienos institucijos veiklos skirtybių.
ENThe aim of the presentation is to discuss standardization issues, possible solutions in libraries, museums and archives and to present results of their collaboration in this field. In the Baltic States standardization activities that meet the requirements of the International Standardization Organization and European standardization institutions have started at the same time - in the 10th decade of 20lh century, therefore, they can be easily compared when discussing difficulties that are experienced in relation to application of standards in libraries, museums and archives and defining advantages of standardization. How can standardization activities be organized in memory institutions? One of the possible ways is to participate in the national standardization activities. In Lithuania this opportunity is open and used by libraries, museums and archives. This helps to raise awareness of international standards that are widely used and to learn about their adoption perspectives and results. Another way of standardization is digitization of cultural heritage performed in libraries, archives and museums. Collaborative projects encourage memory institutions to co-operate in the field of standardization, look for common solutions, decide which standards to apply for cataloguing, metadata capture, information retrieval etc. Storage, preservation and recovery of electronic resources are also a subject of specific standards. Projects of long-term preservation of cultural heritage stimulate to unite efforts; it can be argued that digitization in museums, libraries and archives is the factor encouraging collaboration in the field of standardization.Sometimes issues of terminology are faced, because professionals of memory institutions are accustomed to use different terms to describe the same processes and activities. For this reason it is necessary to find a common solution for these issues, and to agree about the normative lexicon; it can be achieved on the basis of international standards. Agreement on the application of common standards in memory institution can help to formalize collaboration between libraries, museums and archives and become a tool for integration of memory institutions despite differences in activities of these institutions.
