LTAntikinės tragedijos suklestėjimas siejamas su trimis didžiaisiais graikų tragikais, gyvenusiais V a. pr. Kr. – Aischilu, Sofokliu ir Euripidu. Pastarojo kūriniai laikomi kokybiškai nauju dramaturgijos raidos etapu. Pasinaudodamas mitologiniais siužetais dramaturgas bandė kelti svarbius to meto klausimus, svarstė opias visuomenės problemas, veikėjų lūpomis išsakė savo mintis ir samprotavimus. Geriausios Euripido kūrybos ypatybės atsiskleidžia jo tragedijoje Elektra. Ši tragedija įeina i pasaulines literatūros aukso fondą, yra labai svarbi dramaturgijos raidai, joje gvildenamos amžinai aktualios moralinės problemos, keliamos žmogaus sąžines, dorovės, atsakomybės problemos, gvildenami žmonių santykiai. ENThe flourishing of the ancient Greek tragedy is related to the three greatest ancient Greek tragedians, who lived in the 5th century B. C., i. e. Sophocles, Aeschylus and Euripides. The works by the latter are considered a new phase in development of dramaturgy. By employing mythological subjects the said tragedian attempted to raise the issues, relevant of the period, discussed the relevant problems of the society and expressed his own thoughts and ideas through the lips of his characters. The best peculiarities of Euripides’s creative are revealed in his tragedy “Electra” which is a part of the golden fund of the world’s literature and is very important for the development of dramaturgy, since it examines the eternal moral problems, raised by human conscience and morals, the problems of responsibility and the relations between people. The tragedy is translated into the Lithuanian language for the first time, it is translated from the ancient Greek language in verse, i. e. by iambic trimester, the way the tragedy was written.
