ENThe importance of services in Lithuanian business structures has always been substantial and significant. The success of Lithuanian service sector when competing in European market highly depends on the level of services and their information resources management. Information service management issues arc studied in this article. There arc also described principles of rate system (which is instrumental for management) development. Primary situation is evaluated according to the example of transport service system. Objective area is defined - statistical analysis of situation, making of decisions, control of their realization, action forecast and definition of development directions reasoning them. The issues of information system conceptual design, estimation of information needs, making technological decisions by using objective methods, objective database development, organization of document flow, aggregation and calculation of result indexes, computer network development are also discussed. There are some examples of few management solutions for transport services. The conclusions about practice of instruments which contribute to management information needs satisfaction are also presented.
