Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnio tikslas . atkreipti dėmesį į kai kuriuos estetinius politinio sprendinio elementus. Teoretikai dažnai nuvertina šį svarbų politinio mąstymo elementą. Paskutinių dviejų amžių Vakarų politinio mąstymo istorija gali būti paaiškinta kaip Apšvietos ir romantizmo konfliktas. Švietėjai yra politikos sumokslinimo, o romantikai . jos supoetinimo šalininkai. Remiantis I. Berlino ir H. Arendt darbais siekiama dviejų pagrindinių tikslų . parodyti estetinio elemento vaidmenį politikoje ir nubrėžti politinių fenomenų estetizavimo ribas. [Iš leidinio]

ENIn the aftermath of the World War II the threats of political rationalism turned into the focus of numerous discussions. Today we confront a new phenomenon, namely, an aesthetisation of politics. Political life has been increasingly compared to a performance, a show and a fight for images. Aesthetic issues are currently dealt with not only by artists but also by professionals representing political sciences. It is only at first sight that one comes to believe that there are no similarities between political and aesthetic judgments. An in-depth study shows that political judgments are very close to artists. Reasoning, that is, their judgments are based on common sense, insight and intuition rather than on requirements laid by scientific methods. Advocates of Enlightenment were in the wrong when they believed that politics could be made subordinate to science. This sphere of human activity cannot be confined to the narrow framework of scientific thinking. Proponents of Romanticism clung to the other extreme by trying to poeticize politics, this also being a wrong strategy. Thus, the only way out is to acknowledge the independence of the worlds of practice, theory and art. What applies to art might not necessarily apply to science and art; on the other hand, what applies to the latter worlds might be disastrous for practical life. [From the publication]
