Ar Lietuvoje vis dar tebevyrauja konservatyvus nacionalizmas? : recenzija

LTPristatoma 2005 m. leidyklos Versus aureus išleisto lietuviško Leonido Donskio knygos "Tapatybė ir laisvė: Trys intelektualiniai portretai" vertimo recenzija. Šia monografija autorius idėjų bei mentalitetų istorijos kontekste siekia aptarti Lietuvos nacionalizmo sampratas XX amžiuje. Recenzentas teigia, kad knyga yra reikšminga tuo, kad nacionalizmo teorijoje vyraujančią nominalistinę analitinę prieigą L. Donskis papildo ne tik intelektualine istorija, besigilinančia į visuomenės simbolinę sąrangą, bet ir moralės filosofija kaip vertybiniu diskursu, apmąstančiu, kokia turėtų būti socialinė realybė. Šioje studijoje L. Donskis atsiskleidžia kaip atviro nacionalizmo, derinančio moralinį angažuotumą savajai bendruomenei su iš jo besiplėtojančia socialine ir kultūrine kritika, šalininkas. Knygoje Išskiriamos dvi autoriaus plėtojamos lietuviškojo nacionalizmo sampratos: konservatyvusis nacionalizmas bei modernusis, atviras nacionalizmas multikultūrinės Europos ir globalėjančio pasaulio kontekste. Recenzentas diskutuoja su knygos autoriumi dėl pasiūlytos konservatyviojo nacionalizmo interpretacijos, dėl šios sampratos galiojimo nūdienos Lietuvos politikos tikrovėje. Recenzijoje tautinės savimonės krizė siejama ne tik su sparčiais socialiniais ir kultūriniais pokyčiais, bet ir moralinės vaizduotės Lietuvos intelektualiniame diskurse stoka apmąstant nacionalizmą Europos Sąjungos multikultūrinėje erdvėje, todėl L. ENThe review of the translation of Leonidas Donskis’s book “Identity and Freedom: Mapping Nationalism and Social Criticism in Twentieth-Century Lithuania” into the Lithuanian language, published in 2005 by the Versus Aureus publishing house, is presented. The author of the monograph, in the context of history of ideas and mentalities, strives for discussion of the concepts of Lithuanian nationalism in the 20th century. The reviewer states that the book is significant by the fact that the author supplements the nominalistic analytical access, prevalent in the theory of nationalism both by the intellectual history, dealing with the symbolic framework of the society and the philosophy of morals as a value discourse, contemplating the ways the social reality should be. In his study L. Donskis manifests himself as an advocate of the open nationalism, incorporating the moral engagement for its community and the related social and cultural criticism. The following two concepts of Lithuanian nationalism, developed by the author, are stated in the book: the conservative nationalism and the modern open nationalism in the context of multicultural Europe and the world in the process of globalization. The reviewer discusses the suggested interpretation of the conservative nationalism and the validity of the said concept in the political realities of present-day Lithuania with the author of the book. The crisis of the national self-perception is related in the review not with the rapid social and cultural changes but also with the lack of moral imagination in the intellectual discourse of Lithuania by contemplating nationalism in the multicultural space of the European Union, therefore L. Donskis’s book should be considered a significant academic attempt to fill in the said gap.
