LTRecenzijoje pristatoma pirmoji lietuviška studija, pateikianti postkolonijine teorija grįstą sovietinės lietuvių literatūros interpretaciją. Recenzuojamoje knygoje analizuojama XX a. 9 dešimtmečio lietuvių proza, mėginami atskleisti potekstės funkcionavimo būdai, ezopinės kalbos strategijos; literatūra suvokiama kaip pasipriešinimo sovietizacijai ir pasidavimo jai laukas. Atsiremdama į Dano Lapkaus knygoje pateiktą postolonializmo sampratą, konkrečių literatūros tekstų analizes, recenzijos autorė kelia klausimus, ar postkolonializmą apskritai galima laikyti literatūros tyrimų metodologija, kokios postkolonijinio požiūrio į literatūrą galimybės ir pavojai, ar įmanoma šį požiūrį, susiformavusį Trečiojo pasaulio šalių politinės ir kultūrinės patirties pagrindu pritaikyti postsovietinių šalių, taip pat ir Lietuvos, kultūrai analizuoti, ar postkolonializmo kaip vienintelio metodo, tinkamo sovietinei patirčiai ir palikimui analizuoti, propagavimas neslepia imperinės sąmonės nuostatų, pranašesnio pozicijos (knyga parašyta JAV universitete apgintos daktaro disertacijos pagrindu).Reikšminiai žodžiai: Literatūra, teorija, pokolonijinis būvis, semiotika, poststruktūralizmas.

ENThe review presents the first Lithuanian study, providing an interpretation of Soviet Lithuanian literature, based by the post-colonial theory. The reviewed book analyzes Lithuanian prose of the eighties of the 20th century, makes attempts to reveal the ways of functioning of implications and strategies of Aesop language; literature is comprehended as the field of both resistance and surrender to Sovietization. Referring to the concept of post-colonialism, presented in Danas Lapkus’s book and analyses of the specific literature texts, the author of the review raises the questions whether post-colonialism may be considered a methodology for literature studies, what are the possibilities and threats, relating to the post-colonial view of literature and whether it is possible to apply the view, which formed on the basis of the political and cultural experience of the Third World countries for analysis the culture of post-Soviet countries, including Lithuania and whether the propagation of post-colonialism as the only method, suitable for analysis of the Soviet experience and heritage, does not hide the imperialistic consciousness and attitude, the position of the superior one (the book was written on the basis of the PhD dissertation, defended at US universities.
