Politikos mokslai Kauno Vytauto Didžiojo universitete - paieškų ir sprendimų dešimtmetis

LTKalbant apie politikos mokslus Kauno Vytauto Didžiojo universitete (VDU), vertėtų pradėti nuo priminimo, kad 1999 metais buvo paminėtas ne tik politikos mokslų Lietuvoje dešimtmetis, bet ir dešimtmetis nuo paties VDU atkūrimo. 1989 m. balandžio 28 d. paskelbtas VDU atkūrimo aktas, ir jau rugsėjo 1 d. pradedami pirmieji mokslo metai atkurto universiteto Ekonomikos, Humanitarinių ir Tiksliųjų mokslų fakultetuose. Atkurto universiteto diplomai per 10 metų įteikti 2089 bakalaurams, 740 magistrų, 60 mokslo daktarų. 1999 m. universitete bakalauro studijose buvo 2798 studentai, magistro - 831, doktorantūrose – 166. Politikos mokslai pradžioje nebuvo visiškai savarankiški, nors pirmieji politologai imti rengti nuo pat universiteto atkūrimo. Pirmasis politologo diplomas įteiktas jau 1994 metais. Politologijos katedra pradžioje veikusi kartu su sociologijos katedra, 1997 m. tapo savarankiška katedra Socialinių mokslų fakultete. Skirtingai nuo kitų Lietuvos aukštųjų mokyklų, VDU niekados neturėjo jokio marksizmo–leninizmo "mokslo" padalinio. Viena vertus, universitetui nereikėjo imtis jokios marksizmo reorganizacijos, ką darė ir ne visada lengvai, kiti universitetai. Kita vertus, VDU neturėjo jokios dėstytojų bazės, tad jai teko suburti personalą. Pridurtina, kad univeristeto strategai nenorėjo ir iki šiol nenori, kad politologija būtų kiek nors pastebimiau veikiama buvusių marksizmo dėstytojų. Taigi užsibrėžtų tikslų siekti nebuvo lengva. ENWhen speaking of political sciences at Kaunas Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), it is worth reminding that not only the 10th anniversary of political sciences in Lithuania, but also the 10th anniversary of VMU was commemorated in 1999. The act of VMU restoration was published 28 April 1989 and the first academic year started in the Faculties of Economics, Humanities and Exact Sciences of the restored University already 1 September. During a decade, 2,089 bachelor, 740 master and 60 doctoral diplomas were awarded by the restored University. In 1999, there were 2,798 students in bachelor-degree studies, 831 students in master-degree studies and 166 students in doctoral studies at the University. At first, political sciences were not completely independent, although the training of the first political scientists started from the very restoration of the University. The first diploma of political science was granted as early as in 1994. At first, the Department of Political Science operated together with the Department of Sociology. It became an independent Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences in 1997. Unlike other Lithuanian higher education institutions, VMU has never had any unit of Marxism-Leninism “science”. On the one hand, the University did not have to implement any Marxism reorganisation, which was not always easily implemented by other universities. On the other hand, VMU had no teacher base, therefore it had to recruit the staff. Besides, the strategists of the University did not want and still do not want political science to be at least slightly affected by the former Marxism teachers. Thus, it was not easy to pursue the aims set. This is probably the reason why political science at VMU was not born together with the University itself.
