ENA list of 15 persons reckoned to Lithuanian intelligentsia is given who has been writing letters to the printer Adomas Zavadzkis (A. Zawadzki, 1814-1875) in 1835-1871. This list is being stored now in the archive of a historian of Lithuanian culture history and bibliographer Mykolas Brenšteinas (M. Brensztejn, 1874-1938) in the National Library of Warsaw. All those correspondents are connected with the township of Varniai and the bookstore which has been working there in 1853-1864. This bookstore has been fixing the most important traces of Lithuanian press in the second half of the 19th century. The comparison of correspondence of a Zavadzkis fund in the Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences to the bibliographef Biržiška's information and M. Breinštein’s list data about the number of the mentioned person’s letters in 1835-1871 let us to suppose, that these investigators used two different sources of letters. So, the majority of the above-mentioned about two hundreeds of letters, wich are very important to the history of the Lithuanian culture, are still not known for investigators. [p. 267].
