ENThe symmetry peculiarities of pickup sashes and overshot fabrics is presented. The international classification system and notation by Woods is used for the analysis of ornaments of pickup sashes. The new principle based on matrices multiplication is proposed for the analysis of the ornaments of overshot fabrics. These methods facilitate the notation of ornaments and the possibility also increases in the creation of ornaments. The results of this work are important for woven fabrics designers and students in professional schools as well as for everybody interested in Lithuanian national culture.
