Konferencijų turizmo plėtros prielaidos mažuose miestuose: Kretingos miesto ir rajono atvejis

LTMokslininkai pabrėžia, kad konferencijų turizmas gali būti sėkmingai plėtojamas mažuose miestuose, taip sukurdamas naujas darbo vietas, skatindamas bendruomenių ir suinteresuotųjų šalių įsitraukimą, nuolatinį tiek turizmui, tiek konferencijoms būtinos infrastruktūros tobulinimą ir atnaujinimą. Lietuvos mastu nėra atlikta pakankamai tyrimų ar studijų, kurios tirtų konferencijų turizmo plėtros galimybes nedideliuose miestuose, atkreipiant dėmesį į jų privalumus - gamtinius, kultūrinius, socialinius išteklius, kurių tikslingas ir tvarus panaudojimas galėtų nešti nuolatinę naudą tiek vietos bendruomenėms, tiek miestui ir regionui, o tuo pačiu ir šaliai. Būtent todėl šiuo straipsniu aptariama, kokios galimybės organizuoti konferencijų turizmą Kretingos mieste ir rajone, kad būtų prisidedama prie šio miesto ekonominės naudos, vietinių verslų plėtros ir miesto augimo. Tyrime, kuriame dalyvauja turizmo ekspertai bandoma išsiaiškinti, kokios galimybės vystyti konferencijų turizmą Kretingos mieste ir rajone, taip pat kaip tuo pačiu prijungti laisvalaikio turizmą, kad konferencijų organizatoriai, dalyviai ir svečiai, galėtų pasilikti ilgesniam laikui po konferencijos arba sugrįžtų į Kretingos kraštą pradėti verslo, o galbūt praleisti laisvalaikį. ENResearchers stress that conference tourism can be successfully developed in small towns and cities, thus creating new jobs, encouraging community and stakeholder involvement, and the continuous improvement and renewal of infrastructure for both tourism and conferences. There are not enough studies or researches conducted in Lithuania that explore the possibilities of developing conference tourism in small towns, focusing on their advantages – antural, cultural and social resources, the targeted and sustainable use of which could bring permanent benefits to local communities, the town and the region, and thus to the country. This is why this article discusses the possibilities of organizing conference tourism in Kretinga town and district in order to contribute to the economic benefits of the town, the development of local businesses and the growth of the town. The study, which involves tourism experts, attempts to find out what opportunities there are to develop conference tourism in Kretinga and the district, as well as how to integrate leisure tourism so that conference organizers, participants and guests can stay longer after the conference, or return to Kretinga to start a business, or perhaps to spend some time in the area. The experts involved in the study identify that it is possible to organize conference tourism in Kretinga town and district, but there is a lack of well-developed infrastructure, material and human resources.
