ENThe essays in Baltic Cinemas After The 90s: Shifting (Hi)Stories and (Id)Entities analyse and re-evaluate such cultural cinematic concepts as the “identity”, “space”, “nation”, “truth”, “genre”, “gender”, “text” and similar issues. The articles are arranged in two sections that target the key film issues: new narratives and aesthetics and shifting identities. Moving the subject beyond the dialectical presentation and analysis of film histories and industries of the region, this volume offers the reader a few glimpses of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian audiovisual stories, histories and images and, so leaves the space for deeper and more extensive scholarship of the Baltic film phenomenon.
