ENThe article deals with some aspects of the phenomenon of „God’s punishment” that befell the pagans of Lithuania for their attacks on the lands of the Teutonic Order at the early stages of the formation of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, presented in the German chronicles of the 14th century. The author analyzes the nature of the punishment that befell the Lithuanians for the sacrilege committed on the lands of the Order during the attacks, as well as the role of God’s intercession in repelling such attacks.
