ENThis article depicts the new communicational context of theatrical image and the viewer which became evident in Lithuanian theatre in the end of the 20 century. It emerges in the social context and discloses new directions of contemporary theatre. New liaisons between theatrical image and viewer show up in this context. The viewer experiences the process of self identification with the image and the necessity of dialogue. Then the art of the theatre becomes open space for communication, it becomes the third participant of the theatre act, which destroys connections with the stage, strengthens the social connections and changes the conception of the art in the theatre.
