ENThe paper analyses the search of update theatricality in modern theatre. Lithuanian theatre is introdused as that striving for connections with the experience of the whole world theatres and new theatricality. The latter is investigated in aspects of the actor’s perfomance (the roles of A. Mamontovas, S. Mykolaitis, D. Gavenonis), of the theatre enviroment (the performances of J. Jurašas, P. Laurinkus, E. Nekrošius). The concliusion is made that in the transformed social context theatre finds the ways to participate in it actively.
