Summary / Abstract:

ENThe author analyzes the history of Lithuanian road to independence: gained after World War I, then lost during World War II due to consequences of Ribbentrop - Molotov Pact and the establishing of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic, and gained again in 1990. Based upon Lithuanian constitutionalism, the role of main subjects of those events and political and legal assumptions of the newly accepted Constitution were presented comparitively.
