Žvalgomieji archeologiniai tyrimai kelyje Radviliškis-Šiauliai

LT2004 m. vykdyti žvalgomieji archeologiniai tyrimai kelio Panevėžys-Šiauliai (A9) 59,7-75,63 km ruože (nuo Radviliškio iki Šiaulių), 28 ha plote, kur numatoma kelio rekonstrukcija. Tyrinėjimų metu iškasti 56 1 m2 dydžio šurfai 59,7-75,63 km ruože ir 3 perkasos 76-ame kilometre, spėjamoje Lepšių senkapio vietoje, esančioje netoli rekonstruojamo kelio. Ištirtas bendras 86 m2 plotas. Žvalgytos Kruojos pakrantės [p. 290].

ENIn 2004 an archaeological survey of the Panevėžys-Šiauliai road (A9) section between Radviliškis and Šiauliai was performed. During the survey 56 test pits (each covering an area of 1 m2) were excavated close to the road and 3 trenches were excavated at the assumed site of the Lepšiai burial ground, located next to the reconstructed road. The total area of 86 m2 was investigated, and the Kruoja River banks were surveyed. During the archaeological survey remains of the assumed ancient settlement of Gudeliai (Šiauliai district) were discovered on the Kruoja bank, and the exact location of the Lepšiai burial ground was established. No cultural layer was found in the reconstructed section of the road.
