Žvalgymai Kruonio seniūnijoje (Kaišiadorių r.) 2003 m

LTKšM organizuota žvalgomoji archeologinė ekspedicija 2003 m. vykdė tyrinėjimus Kaišiadorių r., Kruonio sen. apylinkėse. Žvalgytos įvairios vietos, tiek šalia jau žinomų paminklų, tiek visiškai nežvalgytose teritorijose. Tyrinėjimų metu buvo kasami 1 m2 dydžio šurfai. Intensyvesnėms nežinomų archeologinių objektų paieškoms trukdė blogas oras ir nelabai tikslus anksčiau žvalgytų paminklų aprašymas. Tačiau, nekreipiant dėmesio į sunkumus, buvo atrastos kelios naujos senovės gyvenviečių vietos bei patikslintos anksčiau žvalgytų archeologinių paminklų chronologinės ribos [p. 275].

ENIn 2003 KšM organised an archaeological expedition to the Kruonis subdistrict (Kaišiadorys district). The expeditions discovered two settlements. One of them was about 600 m NW from the Visginai hill-fort. The test pits excavated here revealed different thick-walled and thin-walled pottery fragments, which preliminary dated to the first half of the 1st millennium A. D. Another settlement was also found in the vicinity to the Visginai hill-fort. It was located about 400 m SW from the cemetery of the Dabinta Village about 15-20 m to the bank of the Nemunas. In the vicinity of this territory and the manor site which was surveyed earlier, in the plough zone layer and test pits Hint items, fragments of hand-made pottery, fragments of enamelled vessels and porcelain were found. The cultural layer itself appeared to be mixed up. Handmade pottery shards were smooth, thin-walled and contained no granite temper. Dating of the finds is complicated.
