Tyrinėjimai Žemaitijos g. 13

LT2004 m. mėn. vykdyti archeologiniai tyrinėjimai Vilniuje, Žemaitijos g, 13/10, prie buvusio PRI pastato, pastatyto 1944 m. nugriautų pastatų vietoje. Tyrinėjimų tikslas - nustatyti ankstesnio užstatymo ribas Žemaitijos ir Šiaulių gatvėse. Tyrinėjimų metu buvo kasta 1 perkasa Žemaitijos g. ir 3 šurfai Šiaulių g. Bendras tirtas plotas - 81 m2 [p. 271].

ENIn summer 2004 during the archaeological excavations performed at the corner of the Žemaitijos Str. and the Šiaulių Str. (Žemaitijos Str. 13/10) an area of about 81 m2 was investigated. During the investigation a fragment of the foundation of the external walls of the southern and eastern blocks of the preceding buildings (former possessions No. 330 and 331) were discovered. They attributed to four construction stages: the 18th century, the first half of the 19th century, the mid 19th century and the 20th century reconstruction. The cultural layer was about 2-3 m thick. The earliest cultural layer (of the 17th century) was destroyed during construction works performed in the 18th-20th century. Most of the Ends collected dated to 19th - the first half of the 20th century.
