ENThe problem of unemployment among youth in Poland and Lithuania was taken up. The main objective of this work was to identify, analyze and evaluate the main determinants of youth employment in Poland and Lithuania. The research part was aimed at identifying the causes of youth unemployment and the possibilities of preventing a given phenomenon. Research shows that experience and the right skills are basic requirements for the young. According to the respondents, the main reasons causing the problem of unemployment are the lack of experience of young people and the unmatched study program to the expectations of employers. Such research results prove that stabilisation on the labour market requires time, sensitivity and openness of employers to create conditions for young people to gain experience.
