ENIn the interwar period, Lithuania was populated by around 200 000 Poles. The Polish minority published several magazines. Lithuanian authorities repeatedly forced publishers to change the name of the most important Polish newspapers. Despite many problems, interference and outright censorship, Polish daily papers in Kaunas were being issued continuously for more than 20 years. Besides, and the most popular weekly was “Chata Rodzinna” (Family Cottage), a magazine addressed to the rural population.
