ENIn 2004 the LII MTS expedition performed archaeological tests and surveys in the historical Lukiškės Suburb of Vilnius at the planned building construction site and in its vicinity. Testing the territory of 997 m2 6 test pits with the total area of 16 m2 were excavated, later the survey was performed. The investigation aimed to identify thickness and chronology of the cultural layer and the previous building patterns. At undisturbed locations a 0.5-1.2 m thick cultural layer dating to the 18th-20th century was established. In the southern part of the site remains of the 17th century wooden building were discovered, and layers of the road known from cartographic materials were investigated.
