Utenio aikštės tyrimai

LT2004 m. KPC vykdė archeologinius tyrimus Utenos senojo miesto vietoje (A 1802). Dvi požeminių komunikacijų trasų tranšėjos aikštės P dalyje ir vandentiekio tranšėja centrinėje aikštės dalyje buvo kasamos ne visai senų trasų vietose (šie darbai vyko skubiai), tad jų vietose ištirti 7 šurfai (bendras ištirtas plotas - 18 m2) [p. 213].

ENIn 2004 at the Utenio Square in the location of the old town of Utena an archaeological survey was performed. During that 14 test pits with the total area of 46 m2 were investigated and trenches excavated for communications lines (the total length - 350 m) were surveyed. At the Utenio Square fragments of the 17th-18th century cultural layer were discovered, but the layer was considerably disturbed during the subsequent earthworks. In the 19th-20th century the southern part of the square was covered with brick buildings which were destroyed during the World War II. Afterwards the ruins of the buildings were cleared and rubbles spread throughout the entire square.
