Žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai Kęstučio g. 1, 3, 5 ir Vytauto g. 1

LTArcheologinių tyrimų metu gyvenamųjų namų Kęstučio g. 3 ir 5, esančių šalia Pusiasalio pilies gynybinės sienos, daugiabučio gyvenamo namo Vytauto g. 1 ir atkuriamo pastato Kęstučio g. 1, kuriame turėjęs įsikurti Trakų istorinio nacionalinio parko informacinis centras, sklypuose numatytų vandentiekio ir nuotekų šulinių vietose buvo iškasti septyni 2 x 2 m dydžio šurfai, kurių bendras plotas 28 m2, ir vienas 3,5 x 3,5 m dydžio plotas 1 nuotekų perpompavimo siurblinės vietoje, iš viso 11,5 m2 [p. 211].

ENIn 2004 during the archaeological survey performed at the sites of water and sewage pipelines and wells planned for dwelling houses at Kęstučio Street 3 and 5, located next to the defensive walls of the Peninsula Castle, the apartment house at Vytauto street 1 and reconstructed building at Kęstučio street 1, 7 test pits were excavated. Their total area covered 28 m2. Besides that, an integral area of 3.5 x 3.5 m (11.5 m2) was excavated. The survey revealed that in most of the territory the cultural layer was destroyed by different earthworks. Nevertheless the territory of houses No. 3 and 5 of Kęstučio Street standing at the location of the former defensive fosse of the Peninsula Castle or in its vicinity is valuable and thus must be protected.
