LT2004 m. buvo atlikti archeologiniai žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai Trakų senojo miesto vietoje (A 1783), Vytauto g. 60. Tyrimai vyko planuojamo įvažiavimo į automobilių stovėjimo aikštelę prie prekybos centro „Iki“ vietoje. Siekta nustatyti kultūrinio sluoksnio storį, sudėtį bei datavimą. Ištirti du bendro 8 m2 ploto šurfai [p. 209].
ENIn 2004 archaeological surveying was performed in Trakai at Vytauto Street 60. Two test pits having the total area of 8 m2 were excavated. In the test pit No. 1 no cultural layer was found: it had been destroyed down to the sterile soil (the till layers contained constructional garbage of the late 20th century). In the test pit No. 2 beneath the layers of the late 20th century at the depth of 178 cm a layer of black soil was discovered. On the level of this layer two ceramic shards (a vessel-shaped stove-tile fragment (?) and a potshard) were found. In the most northern end of the test pit 1-2 rows of a stone wall built using a small amount of grout were discovered. The wall was orientated towards NW. The sterile soil was reached only in the test pit No. 1 at the debt of 214 cm; in the other test pit the sterile soil was not reached. On the basis of the ceramic fragments found (shards of a pot and a stove-tile) the cultural layer discovered in the test pit No. 2 is datable to the late 16th-17th century.
