Žvalgymai Šiaulių senamiestyje

LT2004 m. Šiaulių senamiesčio teritorijoje (A 1738) atlikti archeologiniai žvalgymai Gaisrininkų g. 3b, Varpo g. 25, Tilžės g. 151 ir Vasario 16 g. 62. Trasų ir pamatų duobių kasimas buvo stebimas, fiksuojamas, renkami radiniai. Ten, kur buvo bent maža tikimybė rasti nejudintą kultūrinį sluoksnį, kasti šurfai [p. 204].

ENIn 2004 in the old town of Šiauliai archaeological surveys were performed at the Gaisrininkų Str. 3b, Varpo Str. 25, Tilžės Str. 151 and Vasario 16-osios Str. 62. Trenches excavated at the Gaisrininkų Str. 3b and Varpo Str. 25 revealed no archaeologically valuable cultural layers. In the test pit excavated in the path of the trench at the Tilžės Str. 151 the 18th century cultural layer was discovered. At the Vasario 16-osios Str. 62 at the southern corner of the building in an area of 2.25 m2 a piled-earth layer containing the 17th-18th century pottery and glass shards, fragments of stove-tiles and animal bones was found. In total during the year 2004 archaeological surveys performed in Šiauliai 3 test pits were excavated, 7 m, 32.3 m and 42 m long communications trenches were recorded and postholes of the foundation of the 84 m2 building were identified.
