LT2004 m. ištirtas 42 m2 plotas abiejų upelių krantuose. Iš viso ištirta 12 šurfų (10 - 2 x 2 m ir 2 - 1 x 1 m dydžio). Penkiuose šurfuose aptikti archeologiškai vertingi sluoksniai su radiniais [p. 153].
ENIn 2004 in Vilkija at the confluence of two rivulets an area of 42 m2 was investigated. 12 test pits were excavated, 5 of them revealed archaeologically valuable layers containing various finds. They are attributable to two settlement periods: the early one dates back to the Stone Age, most probably to the late Mesolithic or Early Neolithic (116 Hint pieces were collected in total), whereas the later one dates back to the first half of the 2nd millennium A. D. and contains wheelmade pottery, clay daub and animal bones. 61 potshards according to the ornament dating back to the 14th-15th century were collected in total.
