Taigi iš viso buvo ištirtas apie 240 m2 dydžio plotas. Dalį tyrimų finansavo KVAD pagal „Apsaugos tikslais tiriamų archeologinių vietų programą“ [p. 25].
ENThe Sudota archaeological complex (Švenčionys district) consists of the Stone Age settlement, barrow cemetery and Late Medieval village. In 2004 the total area of 240 m2 was investigated. Traces of several pits and remains of a damaged barrow construction were found in the cultural layer partly destroyed by the nature. More than 7000 flint, sandstone and other stone artefacts (microliths, scrapers, burins, borers, cores, etc.) were collected in the Stone Age cultural layer. Several potshards were found as well. The finds were attributable to the Final Palaeolithic (Sviderian), Latest Mesolithic - very Early Neolithic (Kunda-Narva Culture) and Middle-Late Neolithic (Narva Culture) periods. Above the culture layer of Stone Age settlement there was a partly destroyed barrow No. 1. It was surrounded by a circle of large stones. There was a cremation of a boy at the bottom of the barrow. The burial (No. 2) contained burned iron items: an axe, a knife and a buckle. Also there were found several hundred small fragments of burned bronze and gold adornments such as bracelets, necklets etc. The barrow are datable to the 4th-5th century. Above the barrow there was a culture layer of former village containing several tens wheelmade potshards and iron finds dated to the 17th-19th century.
