LT2004 m. pavasarį Viešvilės miestelyje (Jurbarko r.) radau LDK Žygimanto Augusto 1562 m. pusgrašį. 2006 m. spalio mėnesį netoli tos vietos archeologas L. Tamulynas rado du sulipusius Žygimanto Augusto pusgrašius. Monetos perduotos LNM. 2006 m. vėlyvą rudenį LNM Archeologijos skyrius patikrino radimvietę detaliau. Žvalgytas apie 120 m2 plotas, ištirta 20 m2 [p. 497].
ENIn 2006 the LNM excavated the find spot of a hoard of coins in the town of Viešvilė (Jurbarkas Dist.). 20 m2 was excavated at the site and an area of about 120 m2 surveyed. A total of 96 coins were found the majority of which consisted of halfgroats of Grand Dukes Alexander, Sigismund I the Old, and Sigismund August of Lithuania, which had been minted in the early 16th century – 1565. The hoard had been hidden about 1568–1570.
