LT2006 m. VU kartu su KM tęsė Kašučių senųjų žemdirbystės laukų (A 1817) (Darbėnų sen., Kretingos r.) archeologinius tyrinėjimus (žr. ATL 2001 metais, V., 2002, p. 20–22).
ENIn 2006 VU together with KM continued the excavation of the old agricultural fields of Kašučiai (Kretinga Dist.). The aim of the excavation was to make a cross-section of one pile of stones, to establish its size and construction and to collect carbon samples for radiocarbon tests. The selected excavation site was in Kašučiai Forest in the second group of mapped stone fences with piles of stones, which is about 800 m to the NE of the bridge over the River Akmena on the Darbėnai-Kūlupėnai road and on the left bank of the Akmena about 250 m to the SW of the confluence of the Akmena and Vaineikupis. The pile selected for excavation was about 25 m to the S of the top of the river bank’s slope, about 13 m to the NW of the SW corner of trench 2, which was excavated in 2001, and surrounded by 3 interconnected embankments of stones. During the excavation an area 24 m2 in size (trench 3) was excavated, creating a cross-section of the pile of stones by removing 11.52 m2 of its N part. After excavating the cross-section it was established that the pile was 3.45 m long E–W and 50–72 cm high. The stones had been piled 2–4 high. The pile had been begun on yellow loam soil. Charcoal was discovered in the entire cross-section on top of the yellow loam layer and at the bottom of the layer of grey mixed earth that was above it. The highest concentration was found in the E part of the cross-section and in a pit, about 50 x 70 cm in size (measured size) and up to 20 cm deep, that was located among the stones.
