ENThis publication present manuscript of the famous Russian-Lithuanian philosopher Vasily Sesemann (1884–1963) accompanied by a preface. “Historical Development of Art and Its Regularities” is a text of Sesemann’s manuscript collection, which is locat- ed in Vilnius University (F122-97). The text was written during Sesemann's stay in the gulag camp in Taishet (Irkutsk region). Sesemann in the camp for other prisoners taught western philosophy and aesthetics. In the manuscript “Historical Development of Art and Its Regularities”, Sesemann interprets the historical development of art as a change of style.
