Nauji pilkapiai Švenčionių rajone

LT2006 m. rudenį KPC Archeologijos paveldo instituto darbuotojai lankė bei žvalgė kai kuriuos Švenčionių r. esančius jau žinomus ir naujus pilkapius. Žvalgant Magūnų seniūniją buvo aptiktas vienas naujas pilkapynas, du atskiri pilkapiai, vienas pilkapis buvo surastas greta jau žinomo pilkapio. Visus šiuos iki tol nežinomus pilkapius KPC archeologams parodė jau ir anksčiau ne kartą jiems talkinęs Pabradėje esančios Magūnų girininkijos girininkas Stefanas Semaška. Išvykos metu buvo nustatytos naujų pilkapynų bei dviejų atskirų pilkapių teritorijos ir patikslinta vieno pilkapio teritorija bei pavadinimas (jis pakeistas į pilkapyną). Visų šių objektų teritorijų ribų kampų ir pilkapių centrų koordinatės užfiksuotos GPS prietaisu, kai kurie pilkapiai nufotografuoti [p. 446-447].

ENIn 2006 KPC archaeologists surveyed some already known and some new barrow cemeteries located in Švenčionys District. During the survey, 1 new barrow cemetery and 2 separate barrows were discovered in Magūnai eldership and 1 barrow was found beside an already known barrow. All of these hitherto unknown barrows were shown to KPC archaeologists by Magūnai Forest District Forester Stefan Semaška, who has already assisted them more than once. During their expedition the territories of all the new archaeological sites were determined and the territory and name of one object was corrected (changed from a barrow to a barrow cemetery). The co-ordinates of all the corners of the territory boundaries of these objects and of the barrow centres were recorded using a GPS device and some of the barrows were photographed.
