Žvalgymai Dzūkų ir Vilniaus gatvėse Valkininkuose

LT2006 m. lapkričio mėnesį LII MTS vykdė archeologinius žvalgymus Valkininkų miestelio (Varėnos r.) centrinėje dalyje, Dzūkų ir Vilniaus g. Archeologinių žvalgymų metu planuojamoje šviesolaidžio kabelio trasos vietoje stebėti žemės kasimo darbai 390 m ilgio ruože, iki 40 cm pločio ir nuo 70 iki 120 cm gylio tranšėjose. Stebėtos teritorijos bendras plotas siekė iki 156 m2 [p. 412].

ENIn 2006 the LII MTS conducted evaluations in a section of cable trench, 390 m long, up to 0.4 m wide, and 0.7–1.2 m deep, on Dzūkų and Vilniaus Sts. in Valkininkai (Varėna Dist.). A total area of 156 m2 was evaluated. Up to the projected depth of 0.7 m, the horizons dated to the 19th–20th centuries. During the evaluation 16 artefacts were discovered, such as household pottery sherds, coins, and other metal artefacts. Some of the finds (a Sigismund III coin dating to 1st half of the 17th century) also indicate that the horizons could contain artefacts older than the 19th–20th centuries.
