LT2006 m. Liškiavoje, Merkinėje (Varėnos r.), Veliuonoje (Jurbarko r.), Vilkijoje ir Zapyškyje (Kauno r.) pagal Nemuno turistinės infrastruktūros išvystymą mobiliųjų prieplaukų bei automobilių stovėjimo aikštelių įrengimo vietose buvo atlikti žvalgomieji archeologiniai tyrinėjimai [p. 410].
ENIn 2006 evaluations were conducted at the mobile pier and parking lot construction sites in Liškiava, Merkinė, Veliuona, Vilkija, and Zapyškis in accordance with the development of the tourist infrastructure of the Nemunas. In Liškiava an area of 130 m2 was excavated and a cultural layer dating to the 15th–17th centuries together with isolated artefacts dating to a period from the Stone Age to the 18th century were discovered. In Merkinė a total area of 58.25 m2 was excavated and isolated artefacts, which date to 16th–18th centuries and reached this site accidentally through the flooding of the Nemunas, were discovered. A supposed sheet metal part of an old ferry body was found in the Nemunas. In Veliuona a total area of 30 m2 was excavated and a cultural layer even up to 110–120 cm thick was found together with finds dating to the 16th–19th centuries. In Vilkija an area of 13 m2 was excavated and a mixed layer with finds dating to the 16th–19th centuries was found in it. In Zapyškis, 18 m2 were excavated and a dense cultural layer up to 40 cm thick together with finds dating to the 16th–17th centuries was found.
