Žvalgymai senamiesčio pietinio apvažiavimo teritorijoje

LT2006 m. pratęsus senamiesčio P apvažiavimo statybos darbus (atkarpoje tarp Aušros Vartų ir Vanagėlio g.), kartu vykdyti ir archeologiniai žvalgymai. Žvalgytas 7970 m² plotas [p. 402].

ENIn 2006 a survey was conducted at the construction site of the Vilnius S bypass (the segment between Aušros Vartų and Vanagėlio Sts.). During them, a group burial (with five individuals) that dates to the early 19th century was discovered at the entrance to Lapų St. It is possible to connect this grave site with the retreat of Napoleon’s army from Moscow in the winter of 1812–1813. Two storage pits dating to the 16th–17th century were found beside the grave. In reshaping the hill located to the W of Lapų Street, a fragment of a brick building dating to the late 19th – first half of the 20th century was discovered on the S slope. An oven dating to the late 19th – first half of the 20th century and fragments of a brick building dating to the mid-18th – early 20th century were discovered in the segment near the intersection of Aušros Vartų and Geležinkelio Sts.
