Žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai Paupio g. 28 ir Polocko g. 21A

LT2006 m. rudenį LII MTS atliko žvalgomuosius archeologinius tyrinėjimus Vilniuje, Paupio g. 28, UAB „Vilniaus kailiai“ fabriko ir Polocko g. 21A, buvusio UAB „Vilijos siuvimo fabrikas“ teritorijose [p. 374].

ENIn 2006 the LII MTS conducted an evaluation in Vilnius at Paupio St. 28. 9 test pits with a total area of 27.25 m2 were excavated. During the evaluation a cultural layer of up to 3.1 m thick and dating to the 16th–20th centuries was recorded. Household and structural ceramic sherds as well as leather fragments were discovered in it. It was established that the top horizons of the cultural layer in the excavated territory were formed in the 20th century. The bottom horizons of the cultural layer go back to the 16th century but no clear data about the development of the land in this period was obtained. An evaluation was also conducted in Vilnius Old Town at Polocko St. 21A. 9 test pits with a total area of 22.75 m2 were excavated. During the evaluation a cultural layer, which was up to 3.15 m thick and dated to the 17th–20th century, was recorded. Household and structural ceramic sherds were discovered. An 18th century enclosing wall made of stones bonded with lime mortar was recorded. A stone pavement dating to the 17th–18th century was found.
