Tyrinėjimai Rotušės aikštėje ir jos prieigose

LT2006 m. LII MTS ekspedicija tęsė archeologinius tyrinėjimus Vilniaus senojo miesto vietoje, Rotušės aikštėje ir jos prieigose (žr. ATL 2005 metais, V., 2006, p. 363). Darbai susiję su Rotušės aikštės rekonstrukcija. Pirmiausia tirta Dižþiosios g. atkarpa tarp Dižþiosios g. 19 (kavinė „Amatininkų užeiga“) ir Etmonų g. Antruoju etapu tirta aikštės Š dalis tarp Stiklių–Savičiaus–Didžiosios g. sankirtos ir Didžiosios g. 12 (Šv. Nikolajaus cerkvė). Trečiuoju etapu pratęsti ūkinės duobės, atrastos 2005 m., tyrinėjimai [p. 365].

ENIn 2006 the excavation in Vilnius Town Hall Square and its approaches were continued. A 19th century stone pavement was recorded between Didžioji St. 19 and the Contemporary Art Centre. A disturbed cultural layer with individual 16th–19th century finds was recorded under it. A disturbed cultural layer 0.5 m thick was recorded at greater depths at the trench sites. Several iron couplings from wooden water pipes, seals, coins, and stove tile fragments were found in it. The fragments of kiosk foundations and two (17th and 15th–16th century) pavement levels were discovered between Stiklių and Savičiaus Sts. and St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. A zoomorphic pendant and a halfgroat (½ grossus) of Alexander Jagiellon were found there. Fragments of the foundation of a 15th century merchants’ building with a basement and stairwell were found in line with Stiklių – Savičiaus Sts. The excavation of a storage pit from the 2nd half of the 16th century also continued. The layer in it was 2 m thick. Bones, leather fragments, pottery sherds, seals, and coins were found in the pit.
