Kretingos Rotušės aikštės žvalgymai 2003 m

LT2003 m. KM žvalgė teritoriją Rotušės aikštėje (Kretingos senamiestis (A 1821), buvęs ID 2463/A), kur turėjo būti renovuotos ar įrengtos naujos požeminës komunikacijos. Rotušės aikštės teritorija tyrinėta anksčiau (ATL 1986 ir 1987 metais, V., 1988, p. 129–131; ATL 1992 ir 1993 metais, V., 1994, p. 249; ATL 1994 ir 1995 metais, V., 1996, p. 267). Per nurodytą laikotarpį PRPI Klaipėdos skyrius ir MLIM ištyrė bendrą 794 m2 plotą. 2003 m. žvalgytas 674 m2 plotas, kurio įvairiose vietose kultūrinio sluoksnio storis nevienodas [p. 341].

ENIn 2003 KM evaluated the territory of Town Hall Square (in the city of Kretinga) at an underground utilities reconstruction site. The fragments of the foundations of the town hall and a Russian Orthodox church as well as paving laid at various times with layers of rubble and the remains of structures – the fragments of foundations were recorded in a 674 m2 area. There were innumerable finds (sherds of ‘pot-shaped’ (Topfkachel) and flat stove tiles, roof tiles, and pottery as well as shards of glass artefacts) characteristic to the 18th–20th centuries.
